On-Campus
Delton Kellogg Alternative High School is an on-campus learning center that is for students grade 9-12, 19 years of age or under. DKAHS
has group and individual instruction, computer-generated/mastery-based classes and on-line internet-based classes. Mastery-based means that the student works in a subject area and moves on as the information is learned and a passing grade of 80% or above is received.
The daily schedule is the same as the traditional school, Monday – Friday, 8:05 a.m. – 3:20 p.m. DKAHS is located on the same campus as the three traditional schools, so students may ride
the bus. Students are assigned classes to attend daily. Requirements for graduation are the same as the requirements for the traditional high school students.
Alternative education students are allowed to
take elective classes, such as art, auto mechanics, machine shop and advanced classes at the traditional high school with permission from the high school instructors. Lunches are provided by Delton Kellogg Food and Nutrition Services.
Alternative education students are allowed to participate in DKS athletic programs as long as
they meet the requirements for participation as described in the DKS Athletic Handbook.
The Frank Connor Memorial Scholarship Fund offers a $1,000 scholarship to a Delton Kellogg Alternative High School graduate who wishes to further their education in an academic or trade setting. Applications are available in the class-
room or by contacting the Office of Special Programs at (269) 623-9318.
Students in this program may receive community service credits. Students have the opportunity
to volunteer at a variety of events, such as the Community Food Bank and Delton Women's Center.
