Head Coach
Dale Grimes
Coach Grimes is beginning his 12th season as the varsity boys and girls cross country coach and his fourth season as the varsity boys track coach. Prior to holding these positions, Dale served as an assistant and middle school track coach at DKS and at Vicksburg High School.
During his tenure, Coach Grimes has led his girls cross country team to a regional championship (2002) and two KVA championships (2002, 2004). The boys cross country team has also won two KVA championships (1997, 2003), and his boys track teams have won four league titles (1999, 2000, 2003, 2004). Dale earned all-conference status in three sports during his high school career (four years - cross country, three years - swimming, three years - track and field) at Zeeland High School. He then graduated from Hope College with a B.A. in Biology, Psychology, and Secondary Education Certification. Coach Grimes has completed Level 1 of the MHSAA Coaches Advancement Program, and is certified in CPR and First Aid. He is also a certified member of the National Pole Vault Coaches Association. Dale is currently a science and psychology teacher at DKHS and lives in Delton.
