Head Coach | Rick Williams Coach Williams has served as the varsity girls basketball coach for the past six seasons and has assisted the girls track team for the past 19 seasons. He has also coached varsity baseball, varsity football, and varsity boys basketball. In total, Rick has 58 seasons of coaching experience to his credit. After a high school career in which he earned 10 varsity letters (football, baseball, basketball, golf, and track), Coach Williams attended KVCC and played one season of baseball. He earned a B.A. from WMU with a major in Social Studies and minors in Earth Science, English, and Coaching. He then went on to complete a Master's degree in Secondary Counseling. During his tenure as varsity girls basketball coach, Rick's teams have earned the KVA Sportsmanship Award on four separate occasions (2001, '03, '04, and '05) and have also been recognized as Honorable Mention Academic All-State. In winning the KVA title in 2005, the Panthers ended a 17-year drought without a championship. Coach Williams has been a part of six KVA track championship teams (1993, '94, '95, '02, '03, and '04), one regional championship (1995), and has coached two individual state championships in track and field. In March, 2007, Coach Williams completed Level 1 of the MHSAA Coaches Advancement Program. Rick is currently a counselor at DKHS, a position which he has held for ten years. He has also taught science and social studies for 17 years. Rick resides in Delton with his wife and has four children - three of whom have graduated from DKS and one daughter that currently attends DKHS.
